Storybook Breakfast to Support Imagination Library

United Way Celebrates Successful Event Supporting Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program.

United Way of Southwest New Mexico is thrilled to announce the resounding success of its annual Storybook Breakfast, held Saturday, April 5, 2025, which brought the community together in support of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library - a program that delivers free, high-quality books each month to children from birth to age five.

This year's event welcomed over 275 individuals and families who enjoyed a whimsical morning filled with story-themed activities, a delicious breakfast, and appearances from beloved children's book characters. Children were treated to interactive story times, photo opportunities, and take-home books to continue the joy of reading beyond the event.

'We are so grateful for the incredible support from our community," said Amanda Morales, CEO of United Way of Southwest New Mexico. "This event not only celebrates the magic of storytelling but also plays a critical role in ensuring more children in our region can access the life-changing gift of books through the Imagination Library."

Proceeds from the Storybook Breakfast will help expand enrollment in the program, especially in underserved and rural areas of Dona Ana County, where access to books and literacy resources is limited.

Special thanks go to our generous sponsors, volunteers, and community partners who helped make the event possible. Together, we are helping children build a foundation for success -- one book at a time.
