United Way improves lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities in Southwest New Mexico to advance the common good.
To achieve a stronger community by uniting our collective power to create positive, meaningful change.
How We Do It
Raising Funds for Community Impact
The United Way of Southwest New Mexico works to provide the most effective venue for giving and effecting change in our community, consolidating our collective resources for a targeted approach to improve lives by focusing on supporting programs that address the very building blocks for a good life: Education, Financial Stability and Basic Needs.
Facilitating Continued Development for Non-Profit Agencies
The United Way of Southwest New Mexico works to be a regular source of support and facilitation to the local nonprofit agencies who are working everyday to improve the condition of our community one person at a time.
This means holding monthly meetings where non-profit executives can network, share successes, discuss challenges and find opportunities to collaborate in order to make the best use of our communities charitable resources; offering per-service training for volunteers who are interested in becoming active members of non-profit boards, continuing education workshops for board members and staff and working year round to support the people who make opportunities for us to improve our community possible.
Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The United Way of Southwest New Mexico is committed to fostering change in an equitable and sustainable way for every person in every community that we serve to thrive and succeed. We acknowledge that diversity encompasses several dimensions such as: race, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ability, or national origin.
As an organization we commit to utilizing our partnerships to advocate for those whose voices have been traditionally marginalized as we strive for a community that recognizes that all differences should be valued, respected, and celebrated.
