Mad City Money is a two-hour hands-on financial simulation where students develop financial skills by getting a taste of the real world as they take on the role of an adult. The challenge is for students to select housing, transportation, food, clothing, etc., while creating a realistic budget.
Mad City Money provides realistic examples that highlight connection between the decisions students make and the economic consequences of those decisions and the link between education and lifelong earning potential.
Community Volunteers are needed to serve as merchants/vendors during the simulation. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, contact Monica Whitman at monicaw@uwswnm.org or call the United Way office at 575-524-7561.
