Education. Income. Health. The building blocks of a successful life.

United Way believes that everyone is entitled to a quality education, a family- sustaining income and good health. And we’re not alone. Education, Income and Health are also the indicators by which the United Nations measures community development worldwide.

For more than 56 years, United Way of Southwest New Mexico has mobilized the caring power of community resources to serve people in need in our communities. Now, United Way of Southwest New Mexico has embarked on a transformational change through a new service model called Community Impact.
The Community Impact model takes us far beyond our traditional fundraising model. While helping people with their needs today through Safety Net services, it also creates deep and lasting changes by addressing the underlying elements that are the building blocks for successful lives and communities: Education, Income, Health.

Through our Community Impact Fund, we work to make sure people get the support services they need right now while simultaneously addressing the root causes of key issues – that’s how we create true community impact.  We know that by improving education for all children, we’re setting them on the path to high school graduation and college success. We know that those children will go on to hold skilled jobs and be financially equipped to support their families.  We know that good health is directly linked to a successful life.

Most importantly, we realize that when we improve education, income and health at a community level, we all benefit. That’s what LIVING UNITED looks like in southwest New Mexico.
